MINOT, N.D. (KMOT) - Hundreds of students in Surrey unwrapped their brand new books in celebration of the school’s Books are Fun Book Blast program.
It was like Christmas morning at Surrey School on Tuesday. About 600 books were given out as part of their Book Blast.
“I was really happy. I was like, ‘I’m getting new books, so I can read this!‘” said fifth grader Corbyn Keller.
Some students spent the last two weeks asking their families for donations to help them get even more books, but nobody walked away empty-handed.
Now, many of these kids can add to their home library collection or start one for the very first time......
